Hello,
Consider a 2DOF system, with 2 masses where in between them there is a damper.Springs are connected to the bottom mass to the ground and another spring in between the masses. I understand that when the damping of the system increased, resonant peaks is attenuated, but why is it that the isolation is lost? |

Homework?
Is the second mass used for isolation of the first? Write the ODE equations an solve them for your answer. |
