I am currently working on a project which has a PCB with plated through holes that get press-fit on to a pressed metal terminal (originally specified as Nickel Plated Brass). Our manufacturing supplier has suggested the use of tin plated copper to reduce the cost.
Does anyone have an opinion on using either material? Keeping in mind the pressed metal part has to bind with the solder plated Fibreglass PCB. Thanks for any help |

If you conformal coat the board afteer assembly, this may be just fine. Check out /galvanic_capatability.htm for more information on galvanic capatability. |
