Is the bolt considered to be aluminum too, in that calculator?"In general, the fastener torque design does not consider thread engagement. I believe most folks assume 1.5D (major) thread engagement when designing for a fastener fit.I believe one could calculate a fastener torque while considering actual thread engagment.Check out the thread stress area calculator here on enigneers edge. With this calculator you can determine actual thread stress for a given engagement.
