I find my structures subjects extremely hard to understand and I find my lecturer even harder to relate to as do the majority of my class. And if you cant look here for help where can you look. I have examples of past exam papers that if anyone would like to have a look at and maybe try and explain or give me tips on, I would appreciate it very much. I will in turn try and explain it to the others in my class who are struggling with the subject. The course that i am doing and exam that I have to sit would be very basic and im sure any qualified engineer would have no problem understanding and answering and could get through in 20-30 minutes. It is just that I returned to college as a mature student with very little maths exp. I was accepted onto the course as I ly served my time as a Steel Fabricator and not on my educational qualifications. Despite this, it seems as though the only students(minority) in the class who can understand this Lectuter are those who took Applied Math before entering into collage, and it also seems to me that the lecturer trys to explain the problems in as difficult and ambiguous a manner as he can, believe it or not. Anyways, if you think you can help, know a website that can or would just like to take a look over the Past exam papers you can email me at XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and I will send you on the papers. I appreciate any help as i am in a world of s**t regarding this subject.

Stephen,
Test for math skills and take a refresh or an application math class begining from a level you can master it from. It is early in the trimester and you may be able to switch.. if you are having a struggle at it now, you are not going to be able to keep up later. Realize that many great instructors make it a point to be difficult and ambuiguous during the early weeks to send a clear message to students not completely prepared to take on a class to make a decision. I had a computer science prof that did that.. we started with 32 students and only 9 of us completed the class.. but I remember that class as one of the best I ever took, because he spent extreme efforts to make sure those of us that made it past week 4 took away a learned experience. If you can come back to that class being able to talk the lauguage of math you will be so much better equiped and will learn MUCH more. Don't ever take a class to get the credit, take the class to learn! Credits will get you an opening job, accomplishments will then get you the good ones. A credit acquired opening job will never amount to much more than that. You will only achieve the accomplishments with learned skills and experiences. Today and tomorrow , to achieve in the work place you will have to stand out above your peers, to do that you will have to excel with knowledge, skills, talent, and efforts. The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them.
