I am designing an aluminum cylinder which inturn is threaded on to an aluminum endcap. this contains fluid flowing thru it and the max pressure in the cylinder is 20 bar. The cylinder is sealed from the other end.
1) how do i determine the stresses in the cylinder particularly on the surface of the endcap ? 2) how do i determine if the threads will not shear due to the pressure ? |
