Ok...so I have no idea where to turn to get my idea (which is patent pending) made. I have found some manufacturing companies in China, but I would really like to find some in Mexico.

Anyway - I have a jig head fishing hook that I am going to need close to 2 million made. Does anyone know where I could get a mold made for this? I also need leads on manufacturers who could produce and package the item cheaply.

I hope someone in the forum can give me guidance or point me to a good webpage. I just don't know where to even start looking.

I need help in knowing the right steps to take in the process. Thanks for your time!

To help you we are going to need more information about the product. Can you share a picture or drawing? The best manufacturing process may not be a mold....

You can do a simple search in google for "jig head" and see ample pictures for one. My design is a little different, but it will basically look the same.

OK, are there more than one material used? Is the material at the top lead and the hook material a steel alloy? This seems typical for the hook weight configuration I am familiar with.

If so, then this will likely be a two part manufacturing process. The hooks can be formed from wire.

The weighted or lead part (or not) can be cast or formed by pressure from a two-part die.

I would search the internet for:

"Wire Forming Companies"

"Lead casting companies"

"Lead forming companies"

You should also consider just purchasing the hooks from a existing hook manufacturer/company and then forming your lead over the end with a different company into the final product.

Keep in mind that that there will be tooling and setup charges with every manufacturing run. If you buy the hooks from an existing source, then you will save on tooling charges, as well as engineering and design costs. DOn't forget that you will need to select an appropriate material. We don't want the fish to get away!

Those look very familiar. There is a fellow here in the Topeka, Kansas area who manufactures similar jig heads in his shop. He uses a centrifugal casting process and mass produces them by the thousands. His prices are very competitive and it is nice to keep the business stateside.

As per forum rules, I cannot post the company name or address, but if you run a web search for fishing lure manufacturing companies in northeast Kansas, I am sure you will have no problem locating him.
