The part in reference is 1-1/4" diameter and 13" long welded to a bracket. Our heat treating source has certified product to be within 38-41 HRC per print. My customer has checked the parts to be at 36 HRC and is rejecting the product. Our customer is checking the part while the part is in a v-block. My heat treat source is stating that if the part is being checked in a v-block there is a 'correction value' which needs to be added to the results to make up for the deflection which is based on the range of hardness and the size of the part. Does anyone know about this 'correction value' table and if so where can I locate it? |
