On that site they have a "life" chart and a good explanantion of the process. Brad is correct in his reply, that galvanizing is an after fabrication process...it is a metal finishing process. Nicole, Galvanizing is most often a coating applied to the steel later. Either a zinc coating or something like that. You don't make a galvanized nail like you would a steel nail or a copper nail or whatever. It's something added after manufacturing.

How much zinc is generally in a galvanized nail, or does it vary between processors/manufacturers?
