Master Bond Inc., Hackensack, N.J. has developed a new medium viscosity, two component epoxy adhesive/sealant, coating and casting compound. This epoxy adhesive and sealant will cure at room temperature and curing maybe accelerated at elevated temperatures. This epoxy adhesive/sealant features excellent dimensional stability, very good optical clarity and high temperature resistance up to 400°F.

It conforms to Title 21, U.S. Code of Federal Regulation, FDA Chapter 1, Section 175.105 and 175.300 for food applications.

This new epoxy adhesive/sealant does not contain any solvents or volatiles and has medium viscosity and very low shrinkage during cure - 0.0003 inches/in. These characteristics make it well suited for casting manufacturing. This epoxy will Adhere to metals, glass, ceramics, woods, vulcanized rubbers and many plastics is excellent. Additionally, this epoxy adhesive/sealant has excellent electrical insulation properties.

Additional characteristics are:
Resistant to water
Resistant to oil and most organic solvents.
Refractive index of 1.54 and a spectral transmittance (3100-9000Å) of 97%.
Dielectric strength is 440 volts/mil and its volume resistively is >10^15 ohm cm.
