The translation of data between CADKEY and AutoCAD has always been possible. CADKEY will export dxf & dwg formats. You may have to set which version of dwg AutoCAD you are exporting to. The dwg code continues to change often with new releases.

Procedure:
File> Export> Dxf> Name the new dxf> Then select all the necessary geometry to export.

It is a shame that AutoCAD have such brilliant marketing, the DWG/DXF (AutoCAD) code is clunky, but despite its downfalls it is the most widely used form of 2D geometry.
