Dear engineering gurus, I was wondering if some of you might be able to help me out with my project (2 part question): I'm basically trying to make a rotating plinth (like those used
Now i've come across a small motor (MM54) that has the following info for its specs: Constant Volts: 6 - 9
My first question is - would anyone know if this motor is powerful enough to take the weight of 1kg and still function?
Second question - As i need to bring this down to about 1 RPM, can anyone recommend a gearbox that will allow me to do this?
Apologies if my questions seem a little inept - ive never done anything like this before. And i really really appreciate any help or suggestions... Thanks! |

No you are not correct. You need to purchase a "gear motor". this is a motor built to a gear reduction box and housing. They come in MANY sizes and some are very inexpensive. Check your major electrical catalog supply house. Call and ask for tec assistance, they all provide your selection help. I recently used the one at W W Graingers to find a difficult belt for my motor coach (claimed to not be manufactured anymore) and found them very knowledgable and helpful.. and they DID find the belt. I am sure the other catalog houses provide the same competive service. The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them. |

Hi , as English is not my language, I do not understand all your question.
Do you have any sketch? 1 kilo , which center distance rotation? Horizontal, vertical, slope? |
