Load distribution in planetary gears | |||

There are three planetary gears in differential gear assembly of a gearbox. I know the tangential gear force when only one planetary gear is present. Will the load distribution be equal if there are three planetary gears? and what is the neccessity of three planetary gears if the all total load can be transmitted by a single gear? Dear Antony Hi The tangential force become one third so the module of the gears becomes smaller and also the weight. Another point, the distribution of forces become uniform in all over the sun gear. Regards E Foroozmehr |

But if the backlash is different for the all three, the planetary gear with lesser backlash will take more load. In that case , am i supposed to take any factor? Where will i get such factors or how to consider this effect in my design process? Once again, Thank you, C.M.Antony Thomas |
