Hi I have already dug the foundations for the support wall and would like to lay a concrete slab for a deck which extends from my lounge. I need plans ideas and tips please? The slab is going to be supported by 4 walls and the size of the deck is about 5m x 5m (I am going to build a bry area on the deck) Thank you Greg

Greg, I was searching for info on the same subject when I came across your post. I am planning on doing the same utilizing techniques similar to that which can be seen on www.concretedecks dot com. Basically we are talking a structural concrete beam around the perimiter of the deck, with a corrugated steel pan, steel reinforcing, and topped off with lightweight concrete. I'm looking at constructing my forms out of cement compostite board, leaving in place after the cure, coating with EIFS synthetic stucco and topping off with ceramic tile. Let me know if you have found out anything good because there doesn't seem to be much info out there. I see no reason though that sound structural engineering combined good construction methods will not produce a solid, and sound structure. Regards,
