I am looking for a handbook or "rule of thumb" relating shaft diameter to packing cross section. For ex: 5" diameter shaft should use 5/8" square packing. Thanks. compression gland, stuffing box, packing |

Hi, The packing size depends not only the shaft size but also the pressure against which it is supposed to seal. You may refer API61(American Petroleum Institute) codes for information. Manu. |
