Hello,
I have a plastic vertical table leg with which a bracket fastens at a 45 deg < to support a table top. This bracket has grooves in which help to locate and hold it to the leg. Then there is a plastic "well type" nut which is on one side of the leg and an M8 aluminum flat head screw which fastens from the other side to hold the whole works together. I do not know what material the nut is made from. I am looking for a plastic material to have both the nut and screw made from. It must be black. I do not know if Nylon or ABS or something else would be the route to go. Thanks for your reply. |

Was it plastic before?
If so, is it black and does it feel sort of slick? If so it is most likely polyurethane. Polyurethane that is made from used pop bottles is usually colored black to let all know it is recycled and shouldn't be used in the food industry. I have found out the "nut" is made with Polyamide 6 natural + black color. I am wondering if I can substitute the same material in place of the aluminum screw. I could email a pic of the application for your opinion. |

I'd be more interested in a picture of the application AND the screw...
