Hello All, Would you please help on this topic? Can Yellow Zinc-dichromate finishing can withstand 500hrs salt spray test? What will be the thickness ?? Thank you! Eddy |

Eddy-
Yellow zinc dichromate is the kind of plating found on common bolts and screws purchased at home centers and hardware stores. The plating dound on those fasteners certainly WILL NOT pass the 500hr salt spray test. I would contact a metal plater and ask them if there is ANY thickness that will enable this kind of plating to protect the base metal in that test. I would also state the test method..I assume you are talking about the one in MIL-STD-810. |
