Hi,
I have a force calculation problem. I have a ring with a ID of 20inch and OD of 21.25 inch. It is a two piece ring for mounting it on a shaft with 20 inch Dia with two 5/16 -20 bolts. If the shaft is spinning with an RPM of 4100 I need to calculate the Centrifugal force caused by the ring acting on the bolts holding the ring on the shaft. PLease can anyone help me with this. Thanks |

The other thing that will cause a force in the bolts is when it spools up or down. How fast does it go from 0 to 4100 rpm and back? If this is a very fast number, you could get some appreciable forces. |

I think it is about zero from your description, if the bolts are disposed 180 degrees apart, since the ring is symmetric or is it?
If you think otherwise, explain any lack of symmetry and then we can get you another answer. |
