If a strip 5 or 6" wide will do you can get it as shim stock from most industrial supply houses, in a coil 36" to 6' long. If you need a couple of feet wide.... that means you may have to purchase a 4' x 8' sheet. It comes between two sheets of cardboard on a sheet of plywood... this runs the cost up.. so be prepared. Look for metal supply vendors in the phone book or on the web, then network them into telling you who handles thin SS sheets in your area. Bye the way 3XX stainless is magnetic. IE: 303SS ... but some magnetic stainless will flash rust from finger tip oils. Thanks Randy...all I need is 0.5" wide...total of a few square feet...thought I needed 400 series (4xx) will get a little shim stock and try it.
