Can anyone guide me for designing a 'Weak Link' for the rope on the winch drum. What factors should be kept in mind for designing this? Regards, Akhan |

Can you be a little more specific? Do you want your rope to be strong enough to carry a certian load but break if that load is passed? What is your application? |

Thanks. The application is for a Emergency Load Release System of a Crane. The design requirement is such that atleast four raps must always be there on the winch drum when the rope is completely spooled off. |
