could anyone can tell me any insulation can be wrapped on band heater? The insulation shall able to stand at 550C, meet to california state prop 65 law, no environmental issue, No cause Lung cancer, no airborne issue. The usage of insulated band heater is to prevent heat loss and saving electrical energy. The band heater is wrapped at a 1.2L water tank.

If fibers are not exceptable, I suggest strips of polyuerathane ridgid insulation. Lay the strips then wrap with a good grade of Duct tape. |

P.S. to Topec & Scooters comments, I forgot to mention that the polyuerthane may not be able to withstand the heaters outside tempiture. Check this out prior to concederation of this material being used. Thanks,

Our customer didn't like the fiber glass even wrapped with a layer of alum. They claimed that it will airborne if it was wrapping unproperly. Meanwhile, the service man will inhale the fiber glass when it airborne. Most of the fiber are not accepted by our customer unless we can proof them it save for human being in all spec. |
