Ive just received some drawings that are toleranced with the symbol.+/-IT13 over 2
2
My question. Is the lower number(2)the basic size, and is IT13 the grade? If so then the 0.140 converts to give me a tolerance of +/- .00551 inches. Am I correct ?

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are asking, can you post a picture of the specification?

I suspect you may have a form drawing with variable applicable sizes. If this is true, then if you have sizes 2mm you are allowed +/- 0.14mm - which is roughly +/- .005".

Could also be a per unit tolerance specification, in that for every two mm of length you are allowed +/- 0.14mm variation.

On this webpage /international_tol.htm we have a IT tolerance chart. You have to have adobe reader installed on you computer to see it.
