Machine screw tolerance/standards | |||

I have seen references to tolerance for thread fits/class, machine screw head diameter, height of the head and such.... Are there standards for the LENGTH tolerance? Say, for a #6-32 X 7/8 Phillips pan head. How good is the 7/8 number??!! Didn't find anything on the first two passes through Machinery Handbook, but Metric Series had guidelines... Thanks for any advice or reference leads. |

Normally, within machinery's the length tolerances for a selected standard is oncluded within the description notes. |
