Hello,

I need to control angular orientation of holes protruding radially from a cylindrical surface. The thru-holes are aligned 4 @ 90 degrees.

One way to do this would be to tighten up our default angular tolerances of +/-.5 degrees, but I'm trying to use geometric tolerancing to accomplish the result instead.

I've attached a sample drawing of that I quickly laid out. The numbers I've used for tolerancing the holes aren't necessarily important at the moment, but I would like to know if I'm calling out what I'm intending to call out.

Yes, it is correct. The center lines intersecting the holes indicates that the hole features are prependicular to the view and 90 degrees to each other. The only other definition you need is how far the holes are from datum A. You can add a basic dimension to specify this (4X).

I'm sorry, but I don't see that. He said he wanted to control angular orientation. As I see it, he used the symbol for position, not angle, right? He did not say what the angular orientation was in relation to, but one could assume that he means hole to hole, right? If so, then the datum would have been at one hole, and the tolerancing would be on the other holes, right?
