a tube is having 2 suports like simply support beam.
and load on tube acts centally. load on tube is 2 tons. then what are all factors to be considered to know will that tube can take that much of load. thank u hari.c hari.c |

You also need to know the moment of inertia of the tube shape (determined by OD and ID for a simple hollow round tube), and the modulus of elasticity of the material. |

I would recommend you consult a stress analysis reference, maybe Machinery's Handbook or Mark's Standard Handbook for Mechanical Engineers. In my opinion this topic, and the potential for damage from miscalculation, can quickly become too complex for adequate coverage on a forum like this. |
