ASME Section VIII Appendix Y (flange) calcs

I am attempting to perform Appendix Y stress calculations on a custom flange design for a test article. Two of the stress formulas, Eq's. 15a (tangential flange stress at ID) and 16a (longitudinal hub stress) refer to a variable (theta sub B = slope of flange face at inside diameter, rad). No other references to this variable or how it is obtained can be found in Appendix Y or in Appendix 2. Any idea where this comes from? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
