Panel Filters are simply filters that incorporate a panel like construction where a ring or panel like perimeter is utilized to add strength and rigidity to the filter element. The panel filter shape can take on may configurations, such as round, square, rectangle, cylindrical or other. Typically, panel type filters are used as a primary filter in applications where large particle filtration is required or as after-filters for heavy dust and other particulates.

Panel filters are fabricated from a wide variety of materials, such as; wool, polyester, polypropylene, rayon, nylon, foams, metal mesh, wire cloth and impregnated media. Some designs and materials allow for washing or simplified cleaning and reuse.
