Head Loss at Pipe Abrupt Exit Equations and Calculator of a fluid. The head loss coefficient is 1.0 for an immediate pipe exit.
The head loss hLcan be calculated as:
hL= kloss x (um2 / (2 x g) )
Where k loss is the head loss coefficient, (um is the mean flow velocity in the pipe, and g is the gravitational acceleration. kloss is 1.0 for an immediate pipe exit.
Where:
um = Flow Velocity m/s
hL = Head Loss (m)
kloss = Head Loss - dimension less
Dh = Diameter Ratio - dimension less
g = 9.80665 m/s2 or 32.174 ft/s2
