Industrial Finishing Types Menu Mil-A-8625, Sulfuric Anodize, (Aluminum) MIL-A-8625F, MILITARY SPECIFICATION: ANODIC COATINGS FOR ALUMINUM AND ALUMINUM ALLOYS (10 SEP 1993)., This specification covers the requirements for six types and two classes of electrolytically formed anodic coatings on aluminum and aluminum alloys for non-architectural applications (see 6.1). Color will vary with alloy. Aluminum with low alloying elements will show practically no color change. Best coating on aluminum for dyeing. Can be dyed practically any color or shade (black, blue, red, gold, orange, green etc.) Resistant to salt environments. (5% NaCI solution) per method B-117 of ASTM. Minimum weight for type II coatings: Class 1 is 1,000 Milligrams/sq.ft. Type II All aluminum alloys, but do not use where solution can be entrapped.
