Stanton Number Equation and Calculator
The Stanton number is a dimensionless number that measures the ratio of heat transferred into a fluid to the thermal capacity of fluid.
Eq. 1
st = h / ( ρ · µ · cp )
Where:
h = Convective heat transfer coefficient of the fluid (W/(m2 K))
ρ = Density of the fluid (kg/m3)
µ = Velocity of the fluid (m/s)
cp = Specific heat of the fluid (J/kg K)
st = Stanton number (dimensionless)
